Chapter one- The First Beginning
---------------------------------
The sun dazzled brightly in the sky, and cast beams of light down onto ThunderClan camp. Everything was quite peaceful, and only the sounds of birds broke any silence. A bream of light shined into the nursery, down on two bundles of fur. Blazekit raised her head, yawning slightly, and got up shaking her fur. Her beautiful orange pelt reflected light off of it, and her green eyes sparkled. She nudged Ashkit, a gray tom, also her brother, to wake up. He groaned flailing his paw at her, and swished his tail infront of himself.
"Five more minutes.." He said sleeply yawning.
Blazekit smirked, and tackled her brother. They russled into the nursery wall, Ashkit pawing at her face. She backed up, and then darted forward pinning him down. "Pinned 'ya"
"Get off of me!" Ashkit pushed her off, and then reared up playbitting her ear. They tussled some more, until a shadow loamed over them. They gazed up, seeing their mother Sundaze. She was glaring down at both of them with glistening yellow eyes, and her tail flicked.
"You know your not supposed to play so roughly"
"S-Sorry mama, we didn't hurt eachother" Ashkit responded, gazing into her eyes cutely. Blazekit sat a little away, and looked up at her mother. They always got in trouble if they play-fighted roughly, sometimes, it wasn't really fair. One day they'll be Warriors and will fight all the time! Hopefully their mother wouldn't stop them then. As Blazekit continued to think, getting lost in it, Sundaze spoke again.
"It's alright, just be more careful next time" She smiled purring, and pointed her paw to the nursery exit, "How about you two go play out there? You'll have a lot more freedom."
"Thank you mama!" Blazekit squealed excitedly and ran out, her brother close behind her. This would be the first time they would get to play outside, and Sundaze was right, there was a ton of more play-space! She looked around, atonished by the wonders of the outside world. She noticed a white pelt slipping into the Warriors Den, and relized it was Whitewing. She vistied the nursery often, so that's how she knew who she was. She would come and play with her and Ashkit sometimes.
Blazekit noticed that Ashkit and walked away. She scrambled after him, keeping a pace beside him. They looked around, seeing dens, Highrock, etc. Blazekit fell back as she bumped into a russet colored tom, and he turned around looking down at him. Blazekit hadn't seen this Warrior before, and she wondered who he was.
"Hi there kits! Finally out of the nursery eh?" He purred, "I'm Foxleap, nice to meet you two!"
"Hi!" Ashkit said politely, "My name's Ashkit, and this is my sister Blazekit"
"Oh everyone knows about you two, you keep the Clan on it's tails!..Not in a bad way, I used to be like you two when I was a little one" He purred again flicking his tail, "Well I can't really stay around and chat, I've got a Hunting Patrol to go on!" Without a responce, he padded away to a group of many cats, with lots of different pelts. Blazekit blinked, watching the patrol leave. She couldn't wait until her first hunting patrol, it will be awesome! Let alone can she wait to become a apprentice. Learning how to hunt, fight, and the Warrior Code! She would be the best in the Clan, the fastest, the coolest! Lost in her thoughts once again, she spun around seeing Ashkit had headed back for the nursery. She padded after him, gazing around camp.
As they reached the nursery, Blazekit caught the sight of the Medicine Cat's den.
"How about we go visit Jayfeather?" She asked her brother, "He doesn't get much company"
"Oh Blazekit, we both know he'll be his old, grumpy self! He hates company, well atleast I think. When we see him come in the nursery, he's always so grumpy"
"I know..But may-" She was cut off by the sound of a pounce. She saw Dewkit, Snowkit, and Amberkit play-fighting with eachother just a little away. Blazekit and Ashkit exchanged glances, and padded over. Ashkit stood infront of Blazekit, his sleek pelt glistening in the perfect weather. "Excuse me, can we play with you guys?"
Snowkit looked over blinking, and sat up, "Um..Er...Sorry, but no. I think only three would be best for this..Game were playing" He finshed off with a awkward smile. Blazekit knew he was lying, and just didn't want to play with her or her brother. They would always pick on them because they were the youngest of the nursery, only four moons, while they were five. And Seedkit and Lilykit would be going to the Apprentices Den any day now! She flexed her tiny claws, a little ticked. She looked at her brother, but he just had a smile on his face.
"Oh it's perfectly fine. Maybe some other time?" He turned around. Blazekit lowered her eyes. He was the nicest cat she knew, he's never mean to anyone, and doesn't care if he or she would want to play or not. But she followed him as he pranced into the grass. She crouched down, and leaped at him pinning him down smiling. He giggled pawing at her face, and pushed her off softly. They rolled around in the grass, brother and sister, without a care in the world.
Blazekit cuffed Ashkit's ear softly, making sure it wouldn't hurt him. He snickered, and bit down easily onto her ear, and she shoved him off. He pounced back on her, and they tussled into a large patch of grass. Blazekit spatted out some grass, and gazed up at the clear blue sky. A ladybug landed close by her on a flower, and she huched her shoulders glaring at it. She waited for the right moment, then lunged. She landed on the flower and opened her paws up, just to see the bug had flown away into the leaves of a bush. She ran forward, determied to catch the it, and pounced right into the bush. As she got in, she relized she couldn't see anything. She tried moving but nothing worked. She was stuck, and let out a whimper stuggling to free herself. She pawed leaves out from her eyes, enough to see the outside. Ashkit was approuching her fastly, his eyes filled with worry.
"Blazekit!" He shouted, "Don't worry! I'll get you out!"
Blazekit nodded, and awaited for her brother to free her. Suddenly she felt tugging on her tail, and she squealed, "Not so hard!"
"Sowwy!" He muffled her tail in his mouth. He tugged easiler, manging to pull her out. She spun around and wiped leaves off her head. She noticed she had pricks in her fur, and let out a whimper. Ashkit gazed at her fur, and leaned down carefully pulling the prickles out. She smiled slightly, and licked her brother's ear in appreciation. "Thanks" She purred, standing up.
"Don't mention it, sis" He winked, "Do you think mama might be looking for us?"
Blazekit looked around, she noticed they had gone to the back of camp by accident. She nods and starts to lead back to the nursery, "We'd better get back, or we'll be in trouble!"
"Kits! You were supposed to stay by the nursery, not venture off all around camp!"
Blazekit looked up at her mother, with her eyes lowered. She whimpered looking down, "W-Were sorry...We got caught up with all the sights"
"And look at your fur Blazekit! It looks like you got stuck in a prickle bush!"
"She did" Ashkit said.
"Whatever. Come into the den so I can clean, BOTH of you" Sundaze walked back into the nursery flicking her tail. Blazekit and Ashkit both followed, their ears down.
"Next time let's tell her where were going" Ashkit reconmanded.
"Yeah, your telling me"
